Socks and Wrist Warmers

Written on Oct. 30, 2009, published later:
I'm working on a pair of wrist warmers for my MIL for Christmas and my first pair of socks for my sister's birthday (early January). I can't publish the pattern for the socks, since I'm using a copyrighted pattern. But, the wrist warmers are knit as follows:

Cast on 48 stitches onto size 4 needles. Knit in the round.
1- K4, P4
Knit until piece measures 1".
2- K1, P1
3- K1, P1
4- P1, K1
5- P1, K1
Moss stitch in the round until piece is desired length.
6- Continue moss stitch, modifying it for "short rows." Knit back and forth for about 1" (8 rows) then rejoin and knit in moss stitch for another inch. Cast off.

Make 2, working hard to ensure they match.

I am knitting both the socks and the wrist warmers with Lion Brand "Micro spun" acrylic yarn. I'm really liking how it's knitting up- very soft and flexible. I'm also excited that it's machine washable and dryable. It's a delight to knit.
